Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says he`s delighted with the progress of Davide Somma during his loan at League Two side Lincoln City.

Speaking on the Leeds official website Grayson said, “We have watched nearly every game.
He`s got some good goals , he`s helped Lincoln get results, and were all delighted with his progress.”

The South African has become a huge hit at Lincoln since arriving on loan in February, scoring seven goals in eleven appearances and also being involved in a number of assists that have led to goals.

Since his arrival the Imps have pulled clear of the League Two relegation zone and the club have already expressed their desire to keep the striker past the end of his loan agreement.

Somma as also made his feeling clear to Leeds, saying that he wants to play regular first team football.

Leeds currently have a clause in his contract that allows them to extend the deal for a further two years this summer if they wish to.

The 25 year old who joined Leeds in the summer of 2009 after a successful trial with the club, has made just the one appearance in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy win over Darlington in October.

His debut lasted only fourteen minutes when he pulled up with a hamstring injury.
