Simon Grayson was delighted with his players response in the second half after being outplayed by Nottingham Forest for much of the first half.

The visitors looked the more likely to score during the first half with Marcus Tudgay missing their best chance when presented with a shot on goal with Leeds keeper Kasper Schmeichel out of goal.

It was to prove a costly miss for Forest, from the resulting clearance Chris Cohen was shown a straight red card for the visitors for a two-footed lunge on Leeds defender George McCartney.

Leeds made full use of the extra man and dominated the second half, scoring four times.

Grayson speaking on BBC1 Match of the Day live after the game said, “It`s a passionate game and to score the goals we did was very encouraging.
“I`m delighted with how the players responded, it was a tough game, plenty of tackles, plenty of good football played, some good goals, it probably epitomises what the Championship is all about this season.
“Second half I thought we passed the ball around really well, created some good chances and we finished the game off very strongly.”

The result gives Leeds a bit of breathing space in fifth place; they are now four points ahead of Forest, who have dropped outside the play off places into seventh place after the defeat.
