LUFC Grayson bewildered by McCormack omission

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is bewildered as to why Ross McCormack hasn`t been included in the latest Scotland squad.

Scotland finish off their Euro 2012 qualifiers over the next week, with crucial trips to Liechtenstein and Spain and Grayson feels that Ross should have earned a recall after a fantastic start to the season.

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Grayson said, “Ross is scoring goals for fun and I`m bewildered he`s not been called up.
“That`s not my decision, though, and Craig obviously thinks he has other players to do the job. All Ross can do is work hard and keep scoring and his chance will come.
“International football is great recognition for players. From a selfish point of view, I wouldn`t want any of my players going away because it gives me a free week to work with them.
“Ross will be disappointed and understandably so. He can`t do much more than he`s doing at the moment.’

McCormack is top of the goalscoring charts in the championship having netted eight times in the league already this season.

The 25 year old earned a recall to the Scotland squad for their nation`s cup-ties against Wales and the Republic of Ireland at the end of last season, with him starting the game against Wales.

Despite his good start to the season, he has now been left out of the three squads picked by Scotland boss Craig Levein this season.
