Leeds boss Simon Grayson says the move to bring in Andy Keogh on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers has nothing to do with the timescale of Luciano Becchio`s recovery from injury.

Some sections of Leeds supporters were worried that the arrival of Keogh was because last seasons leading goalscorer had suffered a setback with his recovery from his hamstring injury.

Grayson was quick to play down those fears in an interview of Yorkshire Radio, “Luciano is making good progress and he`s been running again with the physio`s this morning (Monday).
“Billy is still injured and will be out of the game on Tuesday night, it`s really something we have been looking to do for seven days and it`s not a reaction to something to do with Luciano.”

Becchio hasn`t played since April after he originally damaged his hamstring in the home game with Watford.

The Argentinian returned for pre season training but suffered a reoccurrence of the injury that as forced him to miss the start of the season.

With fellow strikers, Davide Somma and Billy Paynter out injured Grayson felt that his strike force needed boosting with only Ross McCormack a natural striker (term used loosely) on the books at Elland Road who is fit to play.
