Leeds United boss Simon Grayson believes that Luciano Becchio will be out weeks rather than months after the clubs leading goalscorer underwent surgery this week on his hamstring injury.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, Grayson spoke on Yorkshire Radio and said, “He`ll miss the start of the season but it won`t be much longer than that, that`s for sure.”

Grayson also spoke about Johnny Howson and Robert Snodgrass who were also missing at Hillsborough. “Johnny went down with a virus yesterday and will be fine to travel with us to Norway.
“Robert Snodgrass ankle kept him out today and it should be fine by the time we come back from Norway,” said Grayson.

Leeds travel to Norway on Tuesday for a pre season friendly with Norwegian Second Division side Sandefjord.

The game is still going ahead after the club contacted the foreign office for guidance following the incidents in Oslo on Friday that has left nearly 100 people dead.
