Leeds United boss Simon Grayson couldn`t hide his anger and disappointment after seeing his side throw away a three goal advantage at home and lose.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said,” It was absolutely gob smacking.
“I was lost for words. I was embarrassed and ashamed, unprofessional is another word you could use.”

Leeds shook of the disappointment of going a goal down inside the opening five minutes by leading 4-1 close to half time but a Jon Parkin goal near the interval should have been a warning to the Leeds players.

Grayson even admitted that despite going in at half time 4-2 up he was far from happy with the performance, “I had a right go at them at half time because there were too many things going wrong. We were being unprofessional and we told them,” he continued.

Within twenty minutes of the restart, Leeds found themselves behind as Parkin helped himself to a hat trick along the way.

The night was compounded with just over ten minutes remaining when Ian Hume scored a sixth to help Preston to be the first club in history to put six past Leeds at Elland Road.

Its the second time in two weeks that Leeds have been on the wrong end of a heavy score line after conceding five at Barnsley earlier in the month.
