Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has accepted an apology from striker Jermaine Beckford after his antics after being substituted on Saturday.

Beckford showed his petulant side after seeing his number being held up to be substituted.

After a lengthy time taken to walk off the pitch, he dismissed Grayson`s handshake and headed straight down the tunnel to the displeasure of the manager.

Grayson played down the incident straight after the game and said the matter would be dealt with on Monday.

Both manager and player sat down today (Monday) to sort out the matter.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said “I made it clear that I do not want it to happen again and he`s bought into it what I`ve said. It`s been put to bed now and I expect to see Jermaine in a Leeds shirt on Boxing Day looking to knock the goals in over the Christmas period.

Saturday`s incident once again got the rumour mill started.

With Beckford`s contract due to run out at the end of the season, and a number of clubs rumoured to be interested in his services including Fulham, Newcastle and Bolton, Leeds would be ready to cash in on him in the January transfer window.

Grayson though as re iterated the stance that both him and Chairman Ken Bates have stood by the since the start of the season, that Beckford will not be leaving before the summer unless they get a ‘silly offer` for their leading goal scorer.
