Max Gradel believes its to early to start thinking about the Premier League after helping Leeds into the automatic promotion places at the weekend but believes they can handle the pressure.

Gradel scored both goals as Leeds beat league leaders Queens Park Rangers and with other results going their way they climbed into second in the table.

After last seasons nail biting finish to the season and the nucleus of that squad still at Elland Road, Gradel believes they have what it takes to handle the pressure of a promotion fight.
Speaking in the YEP, Gradel said, ‘I think we can handle the pressure.
‘People are talking about the Premier League already, but I think it’s a bit too early.
‘We just need to keep working hard and we’ll see where we are at the
end of the season.’

The 23 year old insists that it is far too early to be looking at the Championship table although he cannot help looking, ‘Second place is a nice position to be in, but we don’t want to look at the league table, really. It’s too early, though we do look,” he continued.

With Leeds one game short of being halfway through the season they are a point clear of Welsh clubs Cardiff City and Swansea City in third and fourth place respectively.

Cardiff had their home fixture at the weekend postponed against Burnley due to the arctic weather and if they win that, they would go back above Leeds.

In a very tight championship this season, Leeds do now have the luxury of an eight-point cushion between them and the teams just outside the play off positions.

Leeds fans will be hoping that the side can keep up their recent good form that as seen them unbeaten in their last nine games as they go into the busy festive period.

Knowing Leeds, it is sure to be a rollercoaster ride between now and the end of the season.
