Newly named Player of the Season Max Gradel has dedicated his award to the fans, players and manager of the club.

Gradel won both the Players Player of the Year and the Fans Player of the Year at Saturday night`s awards dinner and was quick to dedicate the awards to all those involved at Elland Road. Speaking on the official website, Gradel said, ‘I’ve been working very hard and I want to say thanks to the manager, his staff and the players.
“At the end of last year I felt I let the team and the fans down and I wanted to give something back to this club because it deserves it.

Gradel was referring to his sending off on the final day of last season that could have quite easily have cost Leeds promotion.

The 23 year old was sent off in the first half of the game with Bristol Rovers, with the score at 0-0 and with Leeds needing a win to be certain of going up.

Despite going 1-0 down early in the second half, the ten men fought back to win 2-1 and clinch the final automatic promotion space in League One.

Gradel was forced to miss the first four games of this season through suspension following his sending off but he has been a revelation on the wing for Leeds in their first season back in the Championship.

Gradel has netted on seventeen occasions this season with only Luciano Becchio (twenty) scoring more goals in a Leeds shirt.

His form as also earned him his first call-ups for the Ivory Coast national side, although he is still waiting to make his debut.
