Gary McSheffrey who had a spell on loan at Leeds United last season has signed for former club Coventry City in a one year deal.
The 27 year old has agreed to join the Sky Blues in a one-year deal on a free transfer when his contract with Birmingham finishes at the end of the month.
McSheffrey spent the last three months on loan at Elland Road last season and was rumoured to be keen on joining the whites in the summer when his contract ended at Birmingham.
Speaking after his debut against Colchester at the end of January McSheffrey said, ‘there’d be no better club to be with at Championship level’.
McSheffrey made ten appearances during his stay and scored his only goal for the club against Walsall at the end of January when his miss hit cross beat Clayton Ince in the Walsall goal.
A number of below par performances saw him dropped to the bench after the Southampton game in mid March.
He made just the one substitute appearances in the last ten games of the season in Leeds penultimate home game of the season against MK Dons.
