Former Leeds United defender Patrick Kisnorbo has signed for Australian A-League side Melbourne Heart.

The central defender, who was a key part of the Leeds side that won from promotion from League One in 2010, has signed for Melbourne on a one-year deal.

Kisnorbo was a huge fans favourite during his time at Elland Road and his blood stained face and bandaged head at Old Trafford, when Leeds knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup, epitomised his commitment on the pitch.

The 32-year-old made 58 appearances in an injury plagued three seasons at Leeds Elland Road.

Kisnorbo made 35 appearances for Leeds in his first season in 2009/10 before an Achilles injury saw him miss over a year through injury, returning on the final day of the following season.

He was a regular in the side during the 2011/12 season before a knee injury at the start of the New Year sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

After making just one appearance for Leeds in the first half of last season, he spent the second half of the season on loan at Ipswich Town before being released at the end of the season.
