Midfielder Amdy Faye is set to play for Leeds United reserves at Grimsby Town on Tuesday night having spent the past week on trial at Thorp Arch.

The 33 year old has been without a club since being released by Stoke City at the end of last season.

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is set to travel to Blundell Park on Tuesday night to take a look at Faye, speaking on the official website, Grayson said, ‘Amdy trained with us at the back end of last week and again on Monday.
‘He’s got plenty of good experience and he’s done ok. He’ll play on Tuesday and we’ll have a look at his fitness levels.’

The Senegalese international has played mainly in the English Premier League since arriving in the country in August 2003. He has spent time with Portsmouth, Newcastle United, Charlton Athletic and Stoke City.

He also had a season on loan with Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Rangers from Charlton Athletic but struggled to earn a regular starting place.

He`s made 31 international appearances for Senegal and was part of the side that reached the Quarter Finals of the World Cup in 2002, where he appeared in two games.
