LUFC Fans view v Watford

I was unfortunate enough to be in the hot seat for the game at Watford in what must be one of the worst games of football I have seen in a long time.

McCarthy 6 Star Man

He had very little to do and could do nothing about the goal. His penalty save in the closing stages helped salvage a point for Leeds. I hope we can do something to keep him at Elland Road.

Connolly 5
Played some decent balls into the box but nobody looked like getting on the end of them.

Lees 4
For me his mistake led to Watford`s goal. He went for a ball that had nothing to do with him. Got nowhere near it and left Kisnorbo isolated.

Kisnorbo 5
He won a lot aerially and looked the best outfield player on the pitch for Leeds. Clumsy foul led to the penalty.

White 5
Even he could not get into his stride going forward from defence.

Snodgrass 5
He gets a five for the penalty, as he was rarely involved in the game in a positive aspect.

Sam 3
He did very little and he was rightly substituted with half hour to go.

Clayton 3
Most of the game was played above his head and when he did get the ball he was usually wasteful.

Pugh 4
He battled but he was another player in midfield, who could not stamp their authority on the game.

Becchio 3
He got very little to play off but when he got a chance, he was wasteful.

Keogh 2
Did he actually play? He is a striker but spent most of the time out wide doing very little.

Substitutes

McCormack 4

He did liven things up slightly but was wasteful when on the rare occasion a player actually got the ball down and at his feet.

Vayrynen 5
He made an impact down the right hand side and played a few good balls in. He was in there when it was needed and he won a penalty that salvaged a point for Leeds.

Summary
I would actually rate this has a worse performance than the one against Blackpool when we lost 5-0.

Nobody covered themselves in glory, in a game that was Fourth Division standard, (I actually think I could be being disrespectful to Division Four).

Shocking game, mostly played about twenty feet above any player.

We are a long way from promotion candidates, but once again, we somehow managed to get something from a game we were very poor in.

I wonder what the reaction would have been from the Leeds fans at full time had we not got out of gaol in the final seconds.
