LUFC Fans view v Derby County

I was in the hot seat (Dazza 71) for the fans view at Derby County last night.

Schmeichel 6

Didn`t have a great deal to do in the first half but almost made a huge hash of one save.
Had no chance with either goal and made two good saves near the end.

He needs to start thinking about his distribution. Long quick balls are great if you have the players in attack to feed off them.
He is not the same keeper as the one who faced them on the opening day.

Connolly 7 Star Man
He had a decent game against his former club and was the one player prepared to put a foot in.

Bromby 5
His positioning at free kicks and corners is questionable. Often stands five yards in front of the player he is supposed to be marking.

O`Brien 5
Fairly quiet game, tried to help out in attack late on but can`t remember him winning an header.

Lichaj 6
Turned on his ankle very early on in the game and was struggling throughout. Had a steady game but wasn`t able to help out in a forward role as he usually does.

Howson 6
Battled and tried but his passing was woeful throughout the game. Was on the wrong end of a shocking tackle late in the first half and struggled in the second half.

Livermore 4
Tough tackling midfielder?? Had a shocker, his passing was awful all night and it was a terrible pass from him that led to the Derby equaliser.

Kilkenny 5
Back in the starting line up and a chance to stake a claim for a regular starting place. Once again he doesn`t like to tackle and his passing was also shocking.

Bannan 6
Wasted on the right wing, saw plenty of the ball but his crossing was poor all evening.

Gradel 5
Was snuffed out by the Derby right back for long periods of the game. He scored a great goal to give Leeds the lead.

Becchio 5
He can`t do a great deal when the supply to him is shocking. Had scraps to work off and hardly had a chance all evening.

Subs

Somma 5

More effective than Becchio and had one shot that went just wide of the target from distance.
He`s never going to do much for us when the balls are coming into the box from a great height like they were for the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Johnson 5
He was poor, another who couldn`t find another player in a blue shirt.
Bottled a few tackles late on when we needed a player willing to put their foot in.
Bye bye in the summer, Premier League your having a laugh.

McCormack 5
A few smart touches, but another player who is never going to win many high balls into the area.

Summary
A poor game and losing to a poor Derby side who never threatened our goal until we took the lead says it all.
The worse point is that once again as soon as we go behind, players going missing.
Livermore and Bannan have added nothing to the side in terms of a tough tackling holding midfielder.

Grayson now doesn`t seem to know whether to stick or twist with his midfield.
I am sure he will tinker with it again on Saturday.

Saturday now becomes hugely important as we can forget about automatic promotion and concentrate on the play offs.

If we lose to Watford, I can`t see us finishing in the top ten.
I think we need nine points for a play off place and at the moment I can`t see where they are coming from.

We are still in a great position with five games remaining but not for much longer unless they roll their sleeves up and start fighting.

I am sure we could stomach missing out on the play offs if the players actually showed passion and desire.
Sadly it has been missing for a while now and what we was getting away with a few month`s ago is no longer happening.

Got home at 1.45am, back up for work at 6.30am, probably the same as a huge majority of Leeds fans who made the trip.

Time for the players to start showing the same passion we do.
