LUFC Fans view v Coventry City

Tiny T gives us his usual fans view from the games at Elland Road.

This time after the 1-1 home draw with Coventry City.

Rachubka 3
Little to do, one decent save in the first half and until the major gaff at the end nothing really to mention. His kicking is woeful and distribution slow.

Connolly 7
Solid at the back and got forward to support Snoddy.

Lees 7
Another good game in the middle and getting a good understanding with O’Dea.

O’Dea 7
Like his partner, hardly put a foot wrong. A striker`s goal put us one up, with a good strike from a tight angle across the keeper.

White 7 Star man
Like the rest of the defence solid and attacked well down the left.

Snodgrass 6
A better first half display, though he needs to stop trying to beat everyone when the easy ball is on.

Clayton 5
Better in the first half and should have scored in the second. Played deeper has the game wore on and gave the ball away.

Howson 5
Like his midfield partner, he has had better days at the office. Guilty of leaving too much space between the front two and the midfielders.

Pugh 5
Like the rest of midfield, too deep and gave the ball away too easily.

Keogh 6
Hard working display.

McCormack 6
How did he miss? Open goal and easier to score but…
He defended from the front.

Substitutes
Forssell 4

Little ball to work off and dropped deeper to help the midfield.

Becchio 3
See above comments but looks tired, missing pre-season is showing.

Vayrynen 3
Followed the rest of the midfield with a weak performance

Summary
The goal was a farce under no pressure, Sprake mk2. Dropped the ball at the strikers feet, his distribution was a joke and were now without Lonergan for six weeks, we may have a problem. Do we need to loan an emergency Keeper?

Grayson`s bench is mystifying, why have two big strikers on the bench? I would have one of them and possibly Nunez to play the McCormack role.

We played on the back foot for most of the game, a better side than Coventry would have gone away with three points. The defence is well marshalled and defending as a unit and deserved better from those playing in front of them as the midfield gave the ball away too much.

Disappointing crowd and it was quiet/flat as well with little atmosphere created, most of it seemed halfhearted.

Looking forward, we have played better away from home recently so here is hoping for a better game on Saturday and three points.

Congratulations to O’Dea for his first goal for the Club
