Leeds Vital member Tiny T gives us his match report from Saturday’s victory over Walsall

First Half

Leeds had much of the possession, but only troubled the Walsall goal from range with two from Kilkenny, Howson, Delph and Douglas trying their luck but hardly any trouble for the Keeper.
A mistake in defence could have easily seen us one down but Casper came to the rescue.
A lot of possession but little incision.

Second Half

Loads better, the ball moved much more quickly and the early goal from Becchio who pounced in the box to slide the ball under the Keeper.
Robinson was introduced and his first effort brought a corner from a free kick. Delph scored the second when Robinson laid a free kick into his path and it was dispatched with the Keeper rooted.
Delph’s second came when he dispossessed the Walsall midfielder and lashed it in from outside the box.
Leeds controlled the second half with ease and Walsall rarely, if ever, threatened with Casper a bystander for long periods.

The game changed significantly with the introduction of Robinson to play wide (needs to start). Two stunning Delph strikes secured the points though.

Player Ratings

Casper Ankergren 6
Good first half save, marshalled defence well, otherwise little to do.

Frazer Richardson 7
Another solid display from the Captain.

Rui Marques 6
Better performance but does struggle against the big centre forward.

Paul Telfer 6
Nearly gave away another silly goal with a mistake and Casper certainly let him know. Otherwise he was solid.

Ben Parker 8
With no protection from midfield in front Ben put in a good defensive stint and got forward well. With the two good young left backs we have we can afford to let Sheehan go.

Jon Howson 6
Stuck to the right side well, always looks better when in the centre of midfield though.

Jonathan Douglas 7
Possibly his best performance in a Leeds shirt; broke up play well and some good cross field balls as well.

Neil Kilkenny 5
The weak link in the Leeds midfield, two good first half shots from twenty yards, gets the ball a lot but does little with it.

Fabian Delph 7
Two quality goals and got better as we took control, but he was supposed to be wide Left, needs to play there for the good of the team.

Jermaine Beckford 6
Not the game where he shone, needs to add some of Becchio`s qualities to his game.

Lucciano Becchio 8
He gets better with every game, a handful for any defence and the goals have started to flow. Work rate and finishing power, just what we need.

Andy Robinson 7
Replaced Kilkenny

Provided the width we needed, why doesn’t he start ahead of Macca’s love child.

Robert Snodgrass 5
Replaced Becchio

Little time to have any influence with the game won, Macca protecting his lead striker.
Replaced Delph

Only got five minutes.
