New signing Adam Clayton is looking forward to seeing his career develop after signing a three year deal at Elland Road.
Clayton joined Leeds initially on loan in August from Manchester City and despite only two brief substitute appearances against Derby County and Nottingham Forest, he must have done enough to impress Leeds boss Simon Grayson into making the move permanent.
Speaking on the official website, Clayton said, ‘Leeds is a massive club, just as big as Manchester City. It’s definitely a place and an environment where I can learn and get better as a player.
‘Everything at Leeds is geared up for the Premier League, the stadium, the facilities, the tremendous atmosphere, the fans – they’re brilliant aren’t they? – so I think it is definitely somewhere that I can grow and develop as a player’
Clayton also believes that the side could be in with a decent shout of promotion this season and making it back to back promotions, ‘If we keep fighting for every point, keep on scrapping, I think we can be there or thereabouts this season,’ he continued.
The 21 year old spent the most of last season at Carlisle United and scored for the club in the second leg of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy final against Leeds at Brunton Park.
Despite not making a senior appearance whilst at Manchester City he has also earned six England under 20 caps during his time at Eastlands.
