Malcolm Christie is hoping to solve Leeds striker crisis by returning for the weekend clash with Colchester United.

Leeds are so short of forward cover they even contemplated recalling pantomime donkey Tresor Kandol from his Christmas shows in London.

Christie is currently at Leeds on a non contract basis having trained with the club whilst recovering from injury. He made his debut for the club against Northampton Town in the FA Cup where he made a promising debut. Unfortunately he was quickly back in the treatment room when he suffered a rib injury and has been sidelined for the last three weeks.

With top scorer Jermaine Beckford and goal scoring midfielder Andy Robinson sidelined till around Christmas with hamstring injuries Christie`s return to fitness will be a boost to Leeds faltering promotion push.
