This is not going to be comfortable for me to write for obvious reasons with all Clarets fans in grim mood after losing a two goal lead and playing like plonkers in the second half.

We simply cannot kill games off and in so doing in this case seemed to flatter Leeds by making it all far too easy for them!

We lost the midfield in the second half and you punished us for it big-time. In the end you deserved to win and the away following you brought was worth an extra goal or two.
Why we gave you the whole of the Cricket Field End is beyond me, even the Premier League clubs didn`t get such luxury last season with the Clarets fans getting part of the stand.
The acoustics in that stand always favours the away following when they come in numbers and you easily drowned out anything the Longside could offer.

We had you contained in the first half though and if Becchio was on the pitch you would be forgiven for not realising it. He seemed to be completely ineffective for the first 45 minutes and spent most of the time diving for sympathy in the hope of a free kick being awarded.

I thought your best player in the first half was Gradel. He seemed to lack an end product though, despite looking threatening down the flank.

Your worst player I thought was Alex Bruce and Jay Rodriguez certainly made him look foolish on his way to scoring our second goal.

You looked, I thought a very mediocre side and we seemed to be coasting at one stage with the score at 2-0 after 37 minutes. Brian Easton at left back seemed to also be keeping Snodgrass pretty quiet, so things were looking good for the Clarets.

The second half was a different kettle of fish and we simply capitulated. It is a sign of the times when Clarets fans still feel nervous when being two goals up and when you got that all important third goal we all sensed we were going to chuck one in again.
Leeds simply took control and commanded the midfield with Laws clueless what to do about it. The momentum was definitely with you after your first goal and I am not sure if you just played out of your skins or we made you look better than you were. We were simply dreadful!

Everybody in your team seemed to come alive. Snodgrass suddenly started giving a tiring Easton a hard time, Gradel started having an end product and Becchio said thank you to our defence for removing his shackles.

I was keeping an eye on Bradley Johnson too since we had been linked with him. The Leeds fans didn`t seem to be giving him a hard time this time and in general I thought he looked quite solid. He deserved the booking though for a terrible foul.

Player Ratings:

? Schmeichel- 6 We should have tested him more in the second half.
? Connolly-6 Good cross for Becchio`s goal.
? Bruce-4 Never have rated him despite Burnley being linked with him a few times.
? Collins-5 Marked down for the terrible foul and yellow card.
? McCartney-6
? Gradel-8
? Kilkenny 5 (McCormack-6)
? Howson-7 Well taken goal.
? Johnson-7
? Becchio -6 Marked down based on first 45 minutes.
? Snodgrass-7

Thanks Turfmanphil for your views, I realise it must have been difficult after letting slip a two-goal lead.
