Charlton Athletic are said to be making a late bid for Jermaine Beckford before the transfer window closes.

According to today`s People, Leeds may let him go for as little as £500,000.

The striker was Leeds top scorer in his first full season at the club with twenty goals.
He also had a successful loan spell at Scunthorpe where he scored eight goals in seventeen games to help them secure promotion.

Beckford who scored two goals against Bristol Rovers yesterday has already scored seven goals this season and a number of clubs have already showed an interest in signing him.

Leeds fans will not want to see their prize asset leave the club and will be watching the transfer window closely on Monday.

Also in today`s People are reports that old manager Dennis Wise wants to raid his old club and take three of Leeds highly talented youngsters Tom Elliott, Fabien Delph and Luke Garbutt to Newcastle.

Ken Bates will not be happy with this approach after he had a highly disputed court case with Chelsea a few years ago when they managed to get two of Leeds promising youngsters to Stamford Bridge.

Fabien Delph has managed to break into Leeds first team this season at only 17 and looks to have a very promising future.
He`s already proving very popular with the Leeds fans and with the rumours that they could all go for around £1 million pounds, it`s sure to anger the Elland Road faithful if they leave.
