Leeds entertained Scunthorpe United in a crucial six pointer at the top half of the table.

Leeds made two changes from the side that beat Cheltenham last Saturday, in comes Neil Kilkenny in midfield with Jonathan Douglas moving to right back in place of the injured Andy Hughes.
Jermaine Beckford comes straight back into the team after his three match ban and he replaces Lucciano Becchio who serves a one match ban.

In a very scrappy start to the game the first meaningful bit of news was the withdrawal of Andy Robinson after 15 minutes who was replaced by Bradley Johnson.

Leeds took the lead just past the half hour when the returning Jermaine Beckford scored after good work by Jon Howson.

The home side doubled the lead shortly afterwards when Bradley Johnson`s free kick took a big deflection and found the back of the net.

Just when Leeds were thinking of going in at the break with a two goal advantage a mix up between Casper Ankergren and Ben parker allowed Gary Hooper to nip in and half Leeds advantage.

Hooper brought the sides level early in the second half when he was allowed to get in on goal with the defenders backing off and he gave Ankergren no chance.

Scunthorpe were enjoying much of the play but it was Beckford who broke their hearts with his 25th goal of the season.

Leeds were forced to play the last twelve minutes when last weekends hero Jon Howson picked up his second yellow card of the afternoon.

Ankergren made a fantastic save with five minutes remaining and soon afterwards Lansbury headed wide as the visitors searched for an equaliser.

Leeds held on for the victory, a result that takes them above today`s visitors and into the play off places.
