Leeds made one change from the side that lost against Walsall last time out, Robert Snodgrass replacing Bradley Johnson.

There was no place in the squad for new signing Mike Grella.

Richard Naylor had Leeds first chance but his glancing header hit the side netting.

Leeds had a couple of half chances but long range efforts from Beckford and Robinson didn`t trouble the keeper.

Millwall nearly scored when a mix up between Jonathan Douglas and Casper Ankergren almost sneaked past the keeper.

Millwall thought they had taken the lead half way through the half when a good ball into the box was met by Alexander, his header was saved by Ankergren and then cleared off the line by Naylor.

The Lions then controlled the next ten minutes before Leeds on the break fed the ball out to Beckford on the right, he cut inside his man and his left foot shot gave the keeper no chance.

Leeds then had a great chance just before the break to extend their lead but Robinson deflected shot landed on the roof of the net with the keeper well beaten.

Fuseini was lucky not to see red for the visitors on the stroke of half time when his forearm smash into Robinson`s face only received a yellow card.

Lee Trundle had Leeds first effort of the second half but his chip was clutched out the air by Forde in the Millwall goal.

Alexander was the next to go close, his free kick for Millwall had Ankergren rooted to the spot but his effort just went over the bar.

Jermaine Beckford was then a very lucky boy to stay on the pitch when his elbow into the Millwall keepers face only produced a yellow card.

In a very competitive match tackles were flying in with not many chances on goal.

Snodgrass had Leeds next effort but his free kick went straight into the keepers arms.

Ankergren then fumbled a Martin long range effort but he managed to push it to safety.

Millwall then had claims for a penalty waved away after Marques got in a tangle with a Millwall player.

Leeds next effort came after some good work down the right hand side, the cross found Becchio and he knocked the ball down for Beckford but his shot when under pressure went over the bar.

Soon after though the same partnership clinched the game for Leeds deep into stoppage time, Becchio knocked the ball down for Beckford and his left foot shot gave the keeper no chance.

Not a fantastic performance from Leeds but a very hard fought three points from the home side.

Next up is the West Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield Town on Saturday lunch time.
