Leading goalscorer Luciano Becchio was forced off at half time with a back injury in the home win over Scunthorpe United.

With Leeds already three goals to the good and with a difficult run of fixtures coming up boss Simon Grayson took no chances with Becchio who has already found the net on thirteen occasions this season.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “Luciano had a bit of a stiff back so we took him off at half time.”

With an important run of fixtures coming up that includes the FA Cup replay with Arsenal on Wednesday, Leeds will be hoping it is nothing more than just a stiff back.

Leeds then return to Championship action and face three away games out of their next four with trips to Portsmouth, Hull City and Bristol City, with only a home Championship game with Coventry City to look forward to over the next month.

If Becchio is ruled out it could give a chance to Billy Paynter and Ross McCormack who are still looking for their first competitive goals in a Leeds shirt.

Paynter replaced Becchio today and came very close on to see his shot it his own team mate Davide Somma on the line.

Somma will also be hoping for a return to the starting line up after coming off the bench to score his eighth goal in just fourteen appearances this season with only eight appearances being from the start.
