It’s been a positive week on a contract front for Leeds United fans. We’ve already seen Kalvin Phillips commit his long term future following on from all the speculation over the summer, and with rumblings that Mats Klich is nearing a new deal as well – on Wednesday evening there was confirmation that both Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas had also penned new long term deals themselves.
28-year-old Scottish international centre-half Cooper, has penned a five year deal keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2024, whereas Northern Ireland international Dallas has signed a four year deal which will expire in the summer of 2023.
Both players have both their supporters and their knockers within the fanbase, but in terms of continuity in the first team group, this can only be a positive for me, especially with how they are again both performing for us.
With the news coming more out of the blue, given the speculation we’ve had over the September international break, it took plenty of fans by surprise, but it was a nice one.
Unexpectedly Brilliant!
