Former Leeds manager Steve Evans is in charge at Peterborough United these days and his latest comments suggest that Marcus Maddison will be on the move.

The player was transfer-listed earlier this summer as he looks to progress his career and Football Insider reported last week that the Whites are working on a deal.

Certainly, then, anything surrounding him at the moment will pique our interest and with him not featuring in the Posh’s recent pre-season wins, Evans has suggested that he’ll be on the way as well as Jack Marriott.

He said via Peterborough Today:

“It was tough to pick the best goal today because Tyler and Siriki scored stunners, while one of the Bedford goals was also fantastic. We need to score goals from more areas this season as we won’t be able to rely on Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison.”

The Verdict

Though it’s not explicitly clear that Maddison is coming to Elland Road, it certainly looks promising if rumours are to be believed.

We’re trying to sign him, he’s ready to leave and his manager has pretty much accepted that, too.

Surely, we can’t bodge this one up and instead, I hope we can actually get it over the line.
