Leeds United crashed to their second Championship defeat of the 2018/19 season in Saturday’s early kickoff against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
With Leeds welcoming back a number of previously injured players, the newly promoted side wasted little time in stamping their mark on the game and took the lead two minutes in. Despite Mats Klich getting us back on level terms in first-half stoppage time, it was the hosts who grabbed the all-important second to take all three points and the win on the day.
Whilst there was naturally plenty of disappointment and frustration on show following the fulltime whistle, and even acknowledging our current form over the last few games is hardly title worthy, the fact is our injuries have hit us hard but we’ve kept ourselves largely plodding along. Games will be lost, I’m not sure it needs an overreaction when there’s every reason to believe things will improve when players are fit, sharp and back in form.
This is beginning to look like a full-blown wobble. Very Leeds. #lufc

2 wins out of 8 is lower mid table form. Almost a carbon copy of last season. #lufc

Can't blame the ref today. Masters of our own demise… #lufc

A loss is a loss and they will happen but the standard of performance was most worrying. #leeds looked like a mid-table championship side. #lufc #LeedsUnited

By far most frustrating game all season in every aspect, #lufc

Well at least it got until October before I cancelled all the football shows set to record.#LUFC

Not a good enough performance but we're in a far healthier position now than we were this time last season.

Some poor individual performances today and beaten by a very average team. Very disappointing #lufc

It’s scary how much this team lacks in depth. Take out Douglas and Ayling and it’s a completely different team. Blackburn were there for the taking. #LUFC

Simply not good enough today can keep the ball all day but never looked like scoring similar to past few games really, makes next couple of games massive now #lufc

Poor game. A lot of work to be done as we just haven’t been clinical for a fair few weeks now. Keep expecting improvements in each game but not seeing any. No need to panic but we need to improve fast! #lufc

It was a true bad day at the office, but Blackburn’s own form doesn’t make them mugs.
Maybe it’s a slight rebalancing given our start to the year, maybe Marcelo Bielsa will take more from the recent run in terms of where we do need improvements than he would if we’d have scrapped a victory.
Gotta keep the faith.
