Leeds United confirmed yesterday that highly rated youngster Ryan Edmondson had signed a new three-year deal at Elland Road keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.
✍ | Leeds United are pleased to confirm @Ryan_edmondson9 has signed a new three-year deal with the club
— Leeds United (@LUFC) August 7, 2018
The 17-year-old striker joined us from National League North side York City back in November 2017 having already made his senior debut, aged 16, for the Bootham Crescent outfit and having impressed at both Under 18 and Under 23 levels in the time since, he progressed quickly through to training with the first team and he did bag his Leeds debut as a substitute in the final game of the 2017/18 campaign against Queens Park Rangers.
Having continued to train with the first team group under new manager Marcelo Bielsa this pre-season, his continued progression and development has been suitably rewarded with a new longer-term deal.
Certainly feels like one to watch given how he’s come through the ranks so far and been given a taste of senior football despite his tender age.
Not buying this story that he's 17. He looks 28, married with 3 kids

Given a couple of the reactions it sounds like people know him better from his time at York or in our youth setups given some of the confidence surrounding his deal and the comments about his potentially making an impact this season. Slow and steady though, if Bielsa thinks he’s ready he’ll undoubtedly get his shot and chance to impress.
