“Look At The Possibilities” – Club Will Make Decision On Leeds Man’s Future Soon

|

25-year-old Leeds United attacker Pawel Cibicki returned home to Sweden twice in the Championship campaign of 2018/19 having been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Having made the switch to us during the 2017 summer transfer window, Cibicki has only ever made eight starting appearances for us with two further showings from the substitutes bench. Last summer we sent him out to Molde where he played 13 times in total with a return of three goals, and in the January transfer window he headed back out to Elfsborh, making a further 12 showings with four goals returned.

It’s believed that the deal has a £800,000 permanent buy clause in the loan and speaking to Swedish outlet Boras Tidning, sports manager Stefan Andreasson talked up the relationship between the two clubs and admitted a decision would be made shortly on whether they wanted to option that buy clause.

“It is a little early, but of course over the break we will look at the possibilities of keeping Pawel with us. I feel that we have a good dialogue with Leeds, but there are three parties that must agree. That Pawel is happy with us is something I do not doubt.”

Given how out of favour he is, you certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see this deal go through this summer as it works in the best interests of all parties really.
