“Like A House On Fire” – Former Player Is Delighted With Versatile Leeds Man’s Start To The Season

|

Having arrived at Elland Road back in the summer of 2015 from Brentford, Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas has enjoyed a mixed spell with Leeds United fans and many would argue his versatility in many ways, has actually counted against him.

That’s certainly true since manager Marcelo Bielsa arrived at the club as Dallas has plugged holes as injuries hit and according to Whoscored’s tally of matches going back to June, he’s already appeared (for club and country) in six different positions in the 2019/20 campaign.

The players’ recent form has seen some incredible praise go his way though and fans were delighted to see the club hand him a new contract extension the other week alongside Liam Cooper.

With Dallas getting an extended Leeds run at right back following the injury to Luke Ayling, former player and now BBC pundit, Noel Whelan, has also heaped praise on him for his efforts and consistency so far this year.

Speaking to Football Insider, he explained.

“He looks like he’s playing with a smile on his face, he’s very, very fit, defensively he’s become a lot better – he’s a player that, at the minute, is straight into the team, he’s one of the first names on the teamsheet. The performances that he’s put in have been quite incredible, it’s nice to see him enjoying his football. Last season was hampered by injuries, he was in and out, but this season he’s started like a house on fire.”
