Liam Cooper is gunning for Sheffield Wednesday

Perhaps unsurprisingly given his real growth into the role as skipper this season, Liam Cooper has been pretty vocal after our loss to Birmingham at the weekend.

Obviously, it was a poor result for all involved and the players will have to take some flak because they were not good enough.

To be fair to Cooper, though, he has not gone hiding from any criticism of him and the team and it looks as though he and the players are motivated to put it right on Friday.

We play Sheffield Wednesday in a derby, of course, and it seems as though Cooper has them in his sights.

Via the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said:

“We’ve got a massive game on Friday night. In this league, one thing you don’t want to do is to be getting beat twice on the bounce so we’ll be looking to put it right.”

I’ve been impressed with Cooper’s comments this week but that is only half of what needs to be done.

Following up on these words will be the crucial part and so we’ll all be eager to see he and his team-mates do that.
