It is perhaps one of the finest volleys that Elland Road has ever seen.
In fact, not even volley, it could be one of the greatest goals scored at Elland Road period. No, let’s go one step further. It could be the greatest goal that Leeds United have scored in their history.
Today marks the anniversary of Tony Yeboah’s absolute beauty, thunderbolt, rocket, blastie whatever you wish to call it against Liverpool, one of the most iconic goals scored in the Premier League.
Lukic > Speed > Dorigo > Speed > Dorigo > Wallace > Yeboah > ⚡⚽⚡
ON THIS DAY: In 1995, Tony Yeboah scored THAT goal in the 51st minute against Liverpool.
One of the greatest ever goals in @LUFC
and @PremierLeague history. ???? #LUFC pic.twitter.com/3T6MlnG0aY— LUFCDATA (@LUFCDATA) August 21, 2019
And Leeds fans have spent the morning going on about it and discussing even talking about the man behind the goal, who despite only playing 42 games in the Premier League, certainly left his mark on it.
Fortunate enough to say that this was my very first game and first ever goal I saw live. First time my dad took me to Elland Road. Lucky is an understatement. That noise. That roar. Will stay with me forever. #MOT

In the replay from behind him, you can see one guy celebrating, arms out, before it hits his foot.

I suppose when the goal goes down as arguably the best that a club has ever scored, it’s only right that you celebrate its anniversary every year.
Three questions come out of this video to me. 1) Is it the best goal that Elland Road has ever seen? 2) What exactly do you call a strike like that? (Try to keep it clean). 3) Who out of the current Leeds setup do you think is most capable of pulling that off in a game?
