Leeds United youngster Mallik Wilks has won a League Two Championship winners medal.

Wilks, who is currently on loan at League Two strugglers Grimsby Town, spent the first half of the season on loan at Accrington Stanley.

Accrington, who clinched their first Football League promotion recently in their 131-year history, wrapped up the League Two title with a 1-0 win against Lincoln City on Saturday.

Wilks joined Accrington on a half-season-long loan in August and he scored five times in 24 appearances before returning to Leeds in January.

The 19-year-old scored three crucial goals in League Two during his stay at Accrington. He scored a crucial late equaliser on his debut in the 2-2 draw at Notts County.

Wilks also scored a late winner at Chesterfield as well as a late equaliser against Newport County at home.

Things haven’t gone so well for him during his time at Grimsby in the second half of the season as he has managed just six games without scoring, spending most of his time out with a hamstring injury.

Fellow on-loan Leeds striker Marcus Antonsson is still hoping to win a League One title winners medal after Blackburn Rovers win promotion in midweek. Blackburn are two points behind leaders Wigan Athletic with just one game remaining next weekend.
