Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke has been tearing up our youth set up this season and he’s already received plenty of praise this year from the fans for his performances, with many saying it was only a matter of time before manager Marcelo Bielsa gave him a first shot at senior level.

In amongst all the talking points that came from our draw with Brentford last weekend, the 17-year-old striker making his debut in the match as a late substitute certainly shouldn’t fall through the cracks.

Replacing Stuart Dallas for the final 20 minutes of the game as he made his senior bow and Bielsa rejigged things a touch, was obviously a big moment for our Academy graduate, and whilst you could argue he could’ve done better (he didn’t manage a shot), he certainly wasn’t too shabby as he took eleven touches and had 100% pass accuracy and you have to factor in the game itself as coming on in those circumstances carry challenges of their own.

A small step, a learning curve and a taste of things to come if he continues working as hard as he has been.

Steady start and more to come no doubt.
