Leeds United booked their place in the last sixteen of the Carabao Cup after a dramatic night at Burnley.

Leeds went through, winning the game 5-3 on penalties after the game had finished 2-2 after extra-time.

The game exploded into life in the final ten minutes of normal time.

Leeds went ahead on 80 minutes when Pablo Hernandez, who had only just entered the field as a substitute, put through fellow substitute Sacko and he drilled the ball home from the edge of the area.

Burnley levelled on 89 minutes when Chris Wood scored from the penalty spot after Gaetano Berardi had been found guilty of holding Kevin Long in the area.

Leeds thought they had won it in the third minute of injury time when Hernandez scored from the spot after James Tarkowski had held Kemar Roofe in the penalty area.

There was still time for Burnley to draw level for a second time when Robbie Brady left Andy Lonergan grasping at thin air with a beautifully struck free-kick.

Lonergan then proved to be the hero in the penalty shoot-out with the only save, as he denied James Tarkowski. Leeds converted all five of their penalties through Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Hernandez, Mateusz Klich, Ezjgan Alioski and Stuart Dallas.
