Gary McAllister was somewhat pleased with the performance that saw Leeds United bounce back into the playoff positions.
Goals from Paul Huntington and Jermaine Beckford were enough to seal all 3 points against a Leyton Orient side destined for mid-table mediocrity this season. With just 5 games remaining, and the 15 point penalty arbitration hearing on the horizon (a week Monday) there wouldn’t have been much of a better time for the Whites to find themselves back in playoff contention.
Speaking to the official Leeds United website, McAllister said:
“It’s been a good week for everyone, particularly the players,”
“We had a performance, we got the right result, and barring the keeper making four or five excellent saves, it could have been a lot more than 2-0.
“We’ve gone four clean sheets in a row and that’s pleasing,’ said the boss. ‘Because we know there’s goals in the team.
“Getting into the top-six is a boost, and we’ve got to push on. We’ve got five games left now and there’s so much to play for.
“We’ve got to play with that freedom again.”
