Leeds Utd Bosses Honest Views

Leeds United manager Gary McAllister was somewhat honest regarding his side’s 2-0 victory over Millwall stating “we rode our luck.”

Goals from David Prutton and Andy Hughes were enough to seal a vital 3 points as Leeds marched on towards their playoff berth (at the very least) whilst the result left the lions languishing at the wrong end of the table. It is perhaps safe to say that Millwall had the “lions share” of the game, however it’s goals scored that count and Leeds came away with the W.

Gary Mac spoke to leedsunited.com:

“We scored two wonderful goals, but you have to say we rode our luck,’

“Millwall were excellent, they had a fantastic crowd in, and you have to wonder why they are near relegation when they play like that.

“The momentum was with them. At half-time some of the players were worried that we hadn’t got going, but they played some good stuff and put us under plenty of pressure…

“…But we scored two good goals and got back on the bus to Yorkshire.”

Should have perhaps considered flying, it would have been quicker regardless of risks highlighted once upon a time on an Emerald Airways flight.

There was a special mention for youngster Jonny Howson who put in an impressive display:

“He’s played in every game since I arrived here,” Macca added.

“I’ve never hidden how much potential I see in this guy. One game as captain and one win – that’s a 100 per cent record.”
