Leeds United will not bite the bait as transfer rumours refuse to go away – report

|

Leeds United will do everything in their powers to ensure the future of Jack Clarke is at Elland Road, and will ignore the chance to sign a 61-cap international in return, according to TeamTalk.

The latest club to join the growing list of outfits chasing Clarke is Liverpool, with the Sunday Express claiming Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by the teenager’s development this season, and will launch a move for his signature in the summer.

TeamTalk later added that the Premier League contenders would include a first refusal for the versatile James Milner as part of the deal, who has been one of Klopp’s key players at Anfield this season.

The chance to re-sign a 61-cap former England international, however, does not seem to be appetizing enough for Leeds, who will not take the bate as the Whites would prefer to retain Clarke’s youth over a 33-year-old.

Since breaking out of the U18s squad in October, the winger has become one of Marcelo Bielsa’s favourite youth options and he has handed the 18-year-old a further 16 appearances, five of which have been starts.
