Leeds United earned their third win of 2018 as head coach Paul Heckingbottom enjoyed a 2-1 win against his former club Barnsley.
A first goal for the club for youngster Tom Pearce and a seventh goal of the season from Ezgjan Alioski earned Leeds the three points as they climbed back into the top half of the table.
Leeds defender Paudie O’Connor put through his own goal but it would not deny Leeds the win against their Yorkshire neighbours, as they completed the double over them this season.
Leeds enjoyed more shots on goal with 15 to Barnsley’s 11 whilst both teams had just three attempts each on target.
Barnsley led the corner count with 9 to Leeds 5.
Leeds enjoyed the better possession stats with 55% of the play to Barnsley’s 45%.
The win for Leeds moved them back into the top half of the Championship table and they will hope to finish the season on a high after a disappointing second half of the season.
