Highlights from Saturday’s Yorkshire derby clash between Leeds United and Barnsley at Elland Road.

Leeds completed the double over their Yorkshire neighbours this season with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Tom Pearce and Ezgjan Alioski.

Young defender Pearce scored his first senior goal for Leeds in just his third appearance for the club as he pounced on a loose ball on the halfway line before driving towards the Barnsley goal and firing low past Adam Davies.

Fellow youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell enhanced his growing reputation with another good game in goal for Leeds but he could do nothing about Barnsley’s equaliser before half-time when defender Paudie O’Connor sliced the ball into his own goal.

Leeds won the game in the opening five minutes of the second half when Alioski, who scored in the reverse game, was on hand to fire home from close range after good work from Kemar Roofe.

Barnsley striker Kiefer Moore then produced a miss of the season contender when he somehow managed to poke the ball wide from less than a yard out with the whole of the goal to aim at and no Leeds player in sight.
