Leeds United will travel to the Republic of Ireland for a pre-season friendly against relegated Eircom League Champions Shelbourne. Despite winning the league, financial irregularities meant that the Football Association of Ireland demoted the Shels to the First Division for 2007 season.

The match will take place at Tolka Park, Dublin on the 14th of July and will be the first time the two teams have met since 2003, when a 2-0 saw Leeds well on their way to finishing bottom of the Dublin Tournament.

Just for old time`s sake, here was the Leeds line-up!

Leeds United: Martyn, Mills, Domi, Camara, Matteo, Morris, McPhail (Woods, 45), Barmby (Milner, 45), Wilcox, Sakho (Lennon, 45), McMaster.

It is interesting to note however that the Shelbourne F.C. official website does include the words “This game is subject to approval of the administrators of Leeds United FC.
