The first signing since the return of the Football League share has brought former loanee Casper Ankergren back to Elland Road.

Ankergren played 14 games for United last season whilst on loan from Brondby and was inspirational during the relegation dogfight that ultimately saw the club finish bottom of the Championship. Dennis Wise had previously stated that he was intending to make a move for the Danish international just as soon as he was given the green light to delve into the transfer market.

Casper turned out for the young Leeds side that was defeated last night by Guisley United, a move that shocked those that turned out as no goalkeeper had been formally named in the squad for the game, and played the first 45 minutes of the friendly match conceding one of the two goals as Guisley showed that they were no pushover at their Nethermoor stadium.

Whilst no fee has been disclosed, it was announced that Ankergren has joined the club on a 3-year deal.
