Well, it’s nice to know that he hasn’t completely been forgotten about.
And as we begin the turn for home in the league campaign, we’re going to need all the bodies that we can get, so l suppose it’s good to know that he could be set for a key role in proceedings.
Having been out with an injury since the start of October, reports are suggesting that Adam Forshaw’s contribution to the Leeds United promotion charge isn’t over just yet. According to Football Insider, Marcelo Bielsa still has plans for the 28-year-old midfielder, with the report later stating that “Bielsa regards Forshaw as vital to the team’s playing style as his calm distribution and ability to dictate the rhythm of matches helps Leeds dominate games and wear opponents down.”
It further states that Bielsa snubbed the opportunity to sign an additional central midfielder in the January window because he felt confident with those that are already at his disposal. And to be fair he does have plenty of options to choose from, as well as those that are natural central-midfielders, there is also Pablo Hernandez & Tyler Roberts to throw into the mix.
I just hope that he isn’t planning to make him the focal point of the team going forward and is more or less planning the entire promotion push around him, because as the saying goes, where there’s no smoke there’s no fire, and given his injury history since he’s been at the club, combined with the famed ‘Bielsa burnout’ and you could end up pushing him beyond his limits.
Is Forshaw a player we desperately need back?
And given how the current squad have been going through a little bit of a meltdown in recent weeks, do you really want to put the fate of promotion in their hands for the rest of the campaign?
