Leeds United are back in the big-time and it appears as if they’ll have a flashy new deal to go along with it.

The Yorkshire giants have been mooted with a change of kit manufacturer for quite some time and The Athletic’s Phil Hay has provided an encouraging update into the situation.

Are you excited to see Adidas Leeds shirts next season?

Yes!

No!

No!

Speaking in a recent supporter Q&A session, he claimed that deal was “ready to go” ahead of their return to the Premier League, he said:

“Potentially. It’s basically ready to go.”

Earlier this year, the Daily Mail cited the move as “lucrative” whilst Football Insider claimed that it would be substantially more than the £2m-a-year they’ve been scooping from Kappa since 2015.

He also provided insight into the partnership with shirt sponsors 32Red, adding:

“[Angus] Kinnear said today that the value of shirt sponsorship could increase 10 fold after promotion. So they’ll either renegotiate 32 Red or get someone completely different. I suspect someone completely different.”

So aside from landing a stack of cash from winning the league, the Whites are set to see a further boost to their coffers through shirt deals and sales.

Leeds United v Bristol City - Caleb Ekuban - Feb 2018

Who did Leeds United sell Caleb Ekuban to in July 2019?

It’s certainly going to be a good way to kickstart summer from a Leeds perspective and it could well aid their budget substantially, just as long as Andrea Radrizzani, Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa have a good strategy in place.

They can’t afford to follow the path of Fulham and Villa in recent seasons.
