A recent transfer development has absolutely delighted plenty of Leeds United supporters this week.

According to the Mirror, the west Yorkshiremen have rejected the chance to land free-agent centre-back Daniel Ayala this summer after he was offered to the club by his agent.

It’s been believed for some time that Victor Orta has eyed his fellow Spaniard as a potential target, so this news perhaps comes as a surprise at Elland Road.

Would you have taken Ayala at Leeds?

Yes!

No!

Though, it has left much of the fanbase rather pleased as many saw him as an awful signing if it were to come to fruition.

Ayala has rejected Middlesbrough’s offer of a short-term extension and will leave the club at the start of next week when his contract expires, a bold decision given the relegation battle the northeast outfit are embroiled in.

Some members of the United faithful have blasted the 29-year-old as a “donkey” whilst others brandished the report as “good news”.
