“Sky have agreed” – Leeds fans handed streaming update by The Athletic

Leeds United season ticket holders can expect to be able to witness their final nine matches, albeit from home, according to two of The Athletic’s Championship correspondents.

Both Phil Hay and Paul Taylor have provided an encouraging update in a recent Q&A session on their website where one fan asked about how they’d be able to watch their remaining matches.

Hay said:

“When the EFL announced the return, they said that there would be broadcasts via Sky and iFollow (or similar club services). You would think that most, if not all, clubs would be willing to offer free streams to existing season ticket holders – either that or offer a straight pro-rata refund.”

Before Taylor added:

“Sky have agreed that clubs can make games available to season ticket holders on iFollow…”

While the original question was specifically asking about Whites’ promotion rivals Nottingham Forest, the update carries weight across all Championship clubs.

They claim that Sky Sports have agreed to make their broadcasts available to season ticket holders, which is fantastic news for us as we’ll be able to watch the run-in and not miss out.

Hay goes on to suggest that if fans aren’t happy with that, then it would be wise to offer refunds on a pro-rata basis, which is another fantastic outcome if Leeds’ hierarchy agrees.
