Leeds United Midfielder to Leave?

Leeds United boss Dennis Wise is open to the idea that Shaun Derry could leave Elland Road on a loan deal, as he looks to regain full fitness.

Derry has managed just one game since suffering a foot injury last season, now he has returned to first team training, the boss wants to ensure that he gets fully up to speed having missed out on the intensive pre-season training that the squad was put through.

Speaking to the official club website Wise said: ‘I’ve talked with Shaun about allowing him to go on loan,’

‘In the midfield department it’s looking okay at the moment, even with Alan Thompson out for a while, and a loan move would be a good opportunity for Shaun to get some fitness.

‘There’s a certain standard of fitness needed and Shaun needs to improve on that, even from last season when he was playing.

‘My long term plans – at this present moment – are that he wouldn’t figure. But it changes and the door isn’t shut for Shaun.’

Sounds more like the end of Derry at Leeds United to me Dennis!
