The visit of Leeds United has yet again been the catalyst for another club’s match day ticket rush as Carlisle United admit the weekends League One clash is heading for a capacity crowd.

Leeds visit Carlisle’s quaint Brunton Park stadium on Saturday and the home side’s management believes that it will be a 16,903 sell-out as the League One powerhouses make their way North for the match.

Carlisle’s operations manager George Thompson told the Carlisle News & Star: ‘I am astounded by the level of interest. It’s absolutely brilliant.

‘We have been selling an average of 1,500 every day. Since Monday of last week we have had people queuing at the ticket office all day, every day. The phones have been ringing non-stop and it got to the stage where it brought the phone system down on Friday.’

So it’s all but official, Leeds United are good for League One even if League One is not good for Leeds United!
