Vital Leeds United contributor King Billy made the trip to Elland Road for the clash with Sunderland.

He gives his view of the performance of the team following the 1-1 draw.

Peacock-Farrell 8 Star Man

He kept us in the game with a number of good saves. In injury time, he made two saves that were top draw. I can see the Premier League sides sniffing around him come the summer.

Berardi 2

A stupid red card. We all like his commitment to Leeds but that is three stupid red cards this season. He is not really leading by example as captain.

O’Connor 7

A decent debut. He didn’t look overawed.

Jansson 7

He tried to look after O’Connor as much as he could.

Dallas 5

Lyndon Gooch gave him a torrid time. Why did we play Tom Pearce for one game and then not bother again?

Phillips 6

A decent battle with Lee Cattermole. He was often there to put a foot in when needed.

Vieira 6

Like his partner in midfield, he worked hard in a tough battle.

Hernandez 8

He always looked capable of producing something and it was his moment of magic that earned Leeds a point.

Lasogga 4

He did little the whole game. We need a better striker next season.

Saiz 5

He nearly won us the game late on when his free-kick hit the inside of the post, otherwise he struggled to get into the game.

Alioski 7

I think he has been playing really well recently both going forward and working back. He saved a certain goal when he blocked McGeady’s shot and he came close to scoring when his diving header hit the underside of the bar.

Subs

Roofe 6

It was Roofe that broke up play tracking back that led to our equaliser. He should have done better when we had an opportunity when he got in behind the Sunderland defence.

Ekuban 2

He had another great chance saved by the keeper. The referee pulled it back for the free-kick when Saiz hit the post but the goal would have stood could he have finished. Like Lasogga, not good enough in attack.

Anita

He was brought on at the death following the red card.

Summary

Whilst there were plenty of chances, it was a very poor game played between two poor sides. Thank goodness, we had enough points going into the New Year because of our poor return since. We lack any invention when we have creative players so where is the problem with how we are playing. I think we could be looking for another manager in the summer, otherwise, it could be a very long season next year. How have we gone so far backwards in such a short space of time? Only Leeds could do it.

I cannot see us getting much from our next two trips on the road and Barnsley will be desperate to beat us in our next home game. I am already thinking about my summer holiday and break from watching Leeds and I really cannot remember the last time I have felt like this despite watching the side for over 50 years.
