Hereford United battled to earn the right to a replay at Elland Road on Friday evening following the 0-0 draw between the two clubs.

Dennis Wise went into the teams 3rd game this week having made 4 changes, with Huntington, Howson, Weston and Parker all coming in to replace Richardson, Hughes, Prutton and Clapham.

Both Leeds and Hereford had a number of chances to win the game, with the two keepers being called into action regularly. The town of Hereford will be cheering a new hero this morning, as goalkeeper Wayne Brown pulled off an impressive display stopping Carole, Kandol and Douglas as he went one on one.

At the other end of the pitch, Ankergren was called on a number of times to ensure that the proverbial “banana skin” wasn’t split wide open!

With Wise banned from the touchline he relied on Harry Basset, who in turn, sat in the stands! Vital Leeds will hold back from speculation in the whole, but one can only assume mobile phone coverage at Edgar Street is poor. Time for some of those Bolton-Style bouncer earpieces Uncle Ken!

On the game, banned-manager Wise felt that his side were showing signs of tiredness as they failed to overcome lower league opposition: “I don’t think we gave a good account of ourselves,’ he told leedsunitedcom.

‘It’s been a long time travelling and hard work for them. I think they gave it as much as possible, but unfortunately we were a bit below-par.

‘I thought we looked tired and jaded.’
