Leeds Unbeaten Run Ends Against Former Gaffer But There’s No Reason For Panic

|

With an unbeaten start to the 2018/19 Championship campaign, Leeds United went into somewhat of a grudge match with Garry Monk and Birmingham City this afternoon.

With our flying start to the year, and Birmingham’s organised struggles, the match certainly had an edge to it given the manner of his departure from Elland Road but for every fan who was irate about that, you can find another who accepts he was unsure about new ownership given his experience at the club previously, so they can at least understand it.

Whatever fans think, it turned into the bogey show plenty feared it would as despite having extremely limited chances, with Leeds utterly dominating the game, Che Adams hit a first-half brace to consign us to defeat.

They simply took their chances and made them count and we struggled to get efforts on target.

An impressive but bad day at the office in many ways, as with better finishing, and a more composed clinical nature we could easily have scored four or five.

The unbeaten run goes with a 2-1 defeat but I doubt many will get carried away given the overall performance.
